With all the le-galities finally in place, our membership base is expanding and we are now starting prepara-tions for the first general assembly, to be held to-wards the end of the summer. The assembly will lead up to the ‘Cooperative fair’ programmed for the second week in October (9th to 14th) at Camping la Playa in Cala Martina.
However, first we will organise a more social gathering at the Chiricana bar / restaurant, which is right on the beach at the campsite, on Thursday the 12th of July from 19.00h. This will be a good opportunity to meet others in your interest group, get to know one another better and to discuss what everyone wants to do for the October ‘Fair’. During the last month, another two satellite connection points have been created, making seven in total if we include the Casita Verde. One of them is in a lovely new organic vegetarian eating place called ‘Geco’, which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with seating for around 36 people. This place does really great food, with as much as possible being sourced locally. Geco has a warm and friendly atmosphere and a wonderful view of the sea in Santa Eulalia, just along the beach promenade towards the harbour when coming from the Rambla area. The other new location is the already famous ‘La Paloma’ cafe and restaurant in San Lorenzo, where many alternatively minded people hang out amongst the orange grove terraces and where you can enjoy a wide variety of delicious food and drinks, as well as having a quiet chat with friends and business partners.
It’s great to see that more places are interested in joining in with the Ibiza Coop movement and provide a welcoming space for our members to meet, eat and drink something while they discuss the million and one ways for both residents and visitors to improve our beloved island. A location map on our website is coming soon for all these satellite locations, so that we have an easy overview of the growing selection of possible meeting places around Ibiza. Another very exciting piece of news this month, is that the international YES group, represented in Ibiza by Cheryl Slater, have decided to support the Ibiza Cooperativa, holding regular events to raise both consciousness and funds, beginning on the 8th of September with a first public seminar in Casita Verde. The YES Group is an outstanding community of hopeful, optimistic and mo-tivated people , all seeking to get the most from their lives. It was founded in the UK by Karl Pearsall after attending an Anthony Robbins seminar in 1993. The London YES Group was the first of these groups and has been holding events every month for almost 20 years. Over time, satellite YES Groups have popped up, first, all over the UK and then in other countries as well.
To get involved with the YES group and join the leadership team, working on a voluntary basis please contact Cheryl on yesgroupibiza@gmail.com or call 648 914 706.
If you’re interested in speaking at one of our (the Yes group’s) events, we would love to hear from you.
